"QPP Year 3: Turning Up the Heat"

Presented by Natalie B. Cohen, MBA, MHA, LAMMICO Practice Management Specialist
This activity offers CME and CNE credit.
Register online.

LAMMICO Practice Solutions will host a complimentary webinar about the Quality Payment Program (QPP) for LAMMICO insureds, physicians and their practice staff. After a brief presentation, questions from participants will be addressed.

January 1, 2019 was the beginning of the third year of the QPP and the penalty for nonparticipation and the minimum requirements to avoid that penalty have increased. If your practice hasn't done anything yet, you can still avoid a seven percent Medicare penalty! If you are currently collecting data, you can still review and evaluate your QPP strategy. Many of the activities and measures included in the QPP were created to increase patient engagement, improve communication and enhance overall quality in a practice, all of which can help mitigate malpractice risk.

These activities, "Provider-Patient Relationships for Advanced Practice Providers: When It Begins and When It Ends," offer CME and CNE credit, and well as Risk Management Premium Discount Credit that may be used to reduce the basic limits portion of your LAMMICO insurance premium by 10 percent every year.

Establishing and ending provider/patient relationships may pose liability risks for providers. Relationships may be established easily and, at times, unintentionally. Questions frequently arise as to when and how to dismiss a patient from a practice. This webinar will review various scenarios to illustrate these situations and present risk management recommendations to help you safely establish and, when necessary, end patient relationships.
